What is the shelf life of your filters before use?

The prefilters and HEPA filters can be stored in their original packaging for years. However, the activated carbon gas filter should only be stored for no more than a year. Care must be taken to store them in a dry environment, free from other chemical vapors and gases.

Why do fumes need to be extracted into a filter, rather than outside?

We all need clean air. Extracting air from an indoor process and blowing it directly outside will keep the air clean within the room, but you will be contributing to outdoor air pollution which affects all of us. Using a recirculating filtered fume extractor traps the contaminants in the filter, providing clean air indoors and outdoors. You can also avoid EPA intervention and complaints from neighbors.

Can Filtrabox fume extractors remove fumes from adhesives?

Yes. Most adhesive fumes can be captured by the activated carbon gas filter which is standard with all of our extractors. If there are any aerosolized adhesive droplets, the prefilter and HEPA will remove them from the airstream. Contact us for more information.

How long do your filters last?

It depends on the application, material being processed, ambient conditions, amount of fumes, etc… However, Filtrabox has the vacuum power and highest quality filters to maximize longevity. The filters are also independent from each other, so you will only have to replace the individual filter that is spent. This is not the case with combined filters. If one part of a combined filter is spent while the other half is still usable, you will have to discard the entire filter. Contact us for more information.

Who uses your fume extractors?

Filtrabox users can be found throughout the entire spectrum of people, companies and industries; from Hobbyists and Makers “hacking”  in their basements, defense contractors working in R&D labs to electric car manufacturers producing in their factories. They have all benefited from the clean air that Filtrabox provides.

What type of filter comes with the fume extraction unit?

Each fume extractor comes with 3 individual filters: Pre-filter, HEPA filter and an activated carbon gas filter. The filters are pre-installed so that the Filtrabox extractor is ready to use straight out of the box.

How do I know when to change my filters?

Filtrabox’s sensors and smart control system will determine this for you and alert you with an alarm. You can also check the status of your filters at any time.
